The Pepper Name is legendary within the Australian commercial television production industry and the reasons why are many. He began in the industry more than forty years ago as an Engineer in a sound studio. His prodigious work ethic, combined with considerable editing, directing and production talent, has allowed him to become recognized today as one of Australia's best Director/DOP’s and his many awards and professional accolades bear witness to this. Including his full accreditation into the Australian Cinematographers Society.
His expertise does not end on the technical level. He has a wonderful rapport with talent and was always the preferred director to work with Greg Norman for the Holden series and Iain Hewitson for his Bi-Lo Supermarkets contract. Other well known people who have enjoyed Max’s direction include, John Farnham, Scott Hicks, Lleyton Hewitt, HG Nelson, Peter Russell Clarke, Spike Milligan, Andy Thomas and many more.
